History

Terry Thomas started in the caption industry in 1995. Her background prior to this, was being involved in corporate video in Chicago for over 13 years.  In 2000 her desire was to couple her previous video production experience, with serving clients and promoting the benefits of captioning, which lead to her starting Captions and Subtitle Services. She built an expert team of captionists, as well as transcriptionists, translators and personnel for technical support. Terry now supports the company as National Sales and Marketing Manager. Angie N. Russell joined Captions and Subtitle Services in 2008 as Production Manager. Angie’s knowledge of captioning extends back as far as 2003 where she began learning and perfecting the elements of captioning in college. Her background as an Assistant Video Editor allows the company to execute many types of projects and to troubleshoot when needed or confirm workflow for the client. Angie now serves as President of the company.

Certifications

Over the years our exceptional service and quality along with our attention to detail has earned us a few awards…basically, that means the quality of our work is outstanding and we’ve been approved and awarded accordingly. For example, we have the distinct honor to be certified through DCMP (Description Caption Media Program) to caption the U.S. Department of Education programs. In addition, we are a certified caption company for the A&E Network, and, a YouTube Ready supplier to caption YouTube videos…one of only 12 vendors at the initial launch of this program.
